Adidas Trae Young 1 Review

Pros:
One of Adidas's better cushion setups
The materials are sturdy and comfortable
Cons:
Lack of lace loops
Inconsistent traction on dusty courts

Performance of the Adidas Trae Young 1:

Trae Young turned a lot of heads with his play during the 2020-2021 NBA playoffs. He also happened to debut his first signature shoe during this playoff run. Now that the shoe is available to the public, reviewers agree that the traction is inconsistent. One mentions that the shoe picks up a lot of dust on dirtier courts. All reviewers agree that cushioning is the best part of the shoe. The combination of Lightstrike throughout with Boost in the heel keeps the shoe low to the ground and comfortable. The materials used provide structure and help the shoe feel sturdy around your foot. If you can get a pair in the right size, there shouldn't be a problem with the fit. One thing to note is that there aren't many lace loops on the shoe; this makes it hard to customize the fit. Support and lockdown get the job done when it comes to Trae's first shoe with Adidas. Overall, the Adidas Trae Young 1 is a fun shoe to play in as long as you stick to playing on cleaner courts.

The Trae Young 1 offers extremely nice cushioning. The traction plays a little worse than expected, and the support isn't ideal with only two lacing holes, but it's still a solid performer with some premium touches for materials.

Traction works on a clean court, but will pick up a lot of dust easily making it very slippery. Cushion is by far the best aspect about this shoe imo. Support and fit were fine for me. Nothing outstanding nothing bad. It is worth noting that this shoe has a bigger toebox compared to other shoes and that there is no tongue. Personally, I like the no tongue feature as they hug my foot more like a sock. This shoe is worth if you play on a clean court, need lots of cushioning, and can get a good fit

The Trae Young 1 is solid, but overpriced. $125 at most. Has average materials but not much ventilation, and average lateral support, despite the lack of eyelets. Traction is only good on clean: picks up dust pretty quickly. Not really for outdoor use, especially because of Boost pod, and if translucent outsole. Looks nice, with a bunch of different colorways. Good cushioning, Boost and Lightstrike are nice. Fits okay, and comes with spare laces, which is nice. Good cushion and decent traction.

I liked the way they looked. looked clean and got compliments on the court while playing. Really plays to my playing style as it helps with traction while dribbling so I don’t slip and mess my dribbles but stay in position
